I am a native Gael based in Glasgow and a multi-award-winning theatre and screen artist with a 30-year career spanning writing, directing, visual arts, and performance. Described by The Guardian as "formally fearless" and by The Scotsman as "one of Scotland's leading feminist playwrights," my work spans gig-theatre, moving image, audio-visual sculpture, and major institutional curation.
Performance & Theatre Alongside an acting career performing with the National Theatre (London) and the National Theatre of Scotland, I have written and directed my own boundary-pushing work for two decades. I am the co-artistic director of the Isle of Bute-based theatre company Disaster Plan. My theatrical honours include the James Tait Black Award for Drama, the Dario Fo Award, the Tom McGrath Maverick Award, the Amnesty International Award, and multiple CATS awards and nominations.
Screen & Visual Arts Since winning the Underwire Best Screenplay Award for my debut short film, my practice includes screenwriting for BBC Alba and creating audio-visual installations.
Archival & Curatorial Practice For 20 years, I have managed and curated the social justice photo-documentary archive of my late brother, Robin Taudevin.
